Luna

Luna Ray, a 6 year old goldendoodle. The one thing I could not see myself living without. Most people would scoff and say “she’s just a dog” but everyone who has met her, knows that is far from the truth. I received Luna when I was in the middle of my 6th grade year. She was our 2017 family Christmas gift, and ever since then my life has been changed. She is more than just a dog, she is my platonic soulmate that God has strategically placed in my life. Whenever I struggle with the chaotic life that is happening around me, I am able to rely on that little girl to be there for me. She reminds me of innocence and seeing the world through her pure eyes. I truly can not remember a time before she was placed in my life. When I think about all the moments in my life it feels as if she was always there with me. I truly believe that there was no better timing to receive that little miracle of a dog. She has helped me through so many of the tragedies that have happened since that December in 2017. In 6th grade I had just moved to a new school where everyone knew each other. It was hard fitting in, and a lot of times I found myself sitting alone, looking at photos of Luna for comfort. She could bring me comfort even when I was not physically with her and that is a gift. Since then, she has helped me through covid, divorce, and my grandma dying. And when I could not find light even in those darkest of times, I could find that comforting sparkle in her eye that lets me know that I am never alone. I know there will come a time when I can no longer look to her for physical comfort but she will leave a paw print shape in my heart for the rest of my life. And when it comes my time to cross the rainbow bridge, I know who will be waiting for me, wagging her tail with the biggest smile on her face. So no, I do not believe I could live without Luna Ray, she will always be a significant part of me, even when she is no longer around.
