MUSIC
There is no one who can understand me when I say that I love music to the core of my being. In their eyes, I am just like everyone else as far as I am concerned. In spite of this, no one can really understand what happens in my mind or in my body when I listen to music. Although it may be possible for some, music is an essential part of my life. I cannot live without music.
It is truly breathtaking to listen to the different tunes, the different vibrations, and the different feelings that it evokes. When I listen to music, my whole body is immersed in it. When I listen to music, I don't feel as alone as I used to. Different songs bring different emotions. Whether it is a sad tune for a sad day, a happy tune for a happy day, and even a loud tune when you have to block everything out around you.
Music helps me swim along this treacherous journey called life. The amount of sleepless nights I stay awake staring at the ceiling listening to music is immeasurable. Music, beats, or even a small hum can drown out the chaos around me.
Something that might be mistaken for garbage or screams can be brought to life by a piece of music. Other people's perceptions of the world are different from mine. Music is everywhere. The pitter patter of feet can be mistaken for a slight drum. The car's horns can be mistaken for a beautiful song prancing through the air.
Life would be miserable without any type of music. It would be silent. I wouldn’t be me without it.
I can ramble on for hours about certain songs that I’ve heard, and I will spend hours trying to track down a song that I heard maybe 3 seconds before listening to the entire thing. The tune and the lyrics are two different things. Since the happy go lucky number obscures the lyrics, you may not notice the depressing lyrics.
Music may be listened to by others, but music is what keeps me alive. I don’t just listen to it, I live for it. A shiver can be sent down my spine if a few notes are played. You may not understand the feelings I feel, but that's okay. You don’t need to understand, because I do.
Just the motif is enough to transform my world. I don't even need lyrics. The lyrics can just add that little touch to make a song truly immersive. But some melodies can have me in tears. Whenever I listen to different types of music, I feel an overwhelming amount of emotions. People will laugh at me, but that’s okay.
So go ahead, laugh when I say I cannot live without music, but spend a day in my mind. Then you’ll understand. You’ll understand so much more. You'll find music so much more meaningful.
It is rarely possible to live a fulfilling life without music.
