My Girls
When you hear me say my girls, most will say I’m talking about my friends. The ones who know me will say my dogs. They are correct. I have two dogs of my own. Their names are Airella and Bella. Both have a special story of how they came into my life.
With Airella let’s start back the night before. I was asleep and had a dream. In this dream God came down and gave me a gift. Guess what the gift was? A small, white, female dog. I woke up the next day and went to school. Meanwhile my mother went on her walk and saw a dog that was lost and confused. The dog followed her home and just decided to walk in the house. So my mom decided to wait till she picked me up from school to take action. So once I got picked up we took the dog to the veterinarian to check for a microchip and no luck. Then for months we went around to try to find her home and nothing. So we decided that I can keep her. At the time she was severely matted and very young. So I knew I could help her. The funny part about her is that she looked exactly like the dog from my dream the night before she was found. So I decided to give her an angel name. Airella is the name of the messenger angel.
Bella’s story starts at Wayside Waifs Animal Shelter were I volunteer. I was walking around and saw her. Her name at the time was Sweet Sally, a two month old Chihuahua Miniature Pincher mix. She was so playful and crazy. People started seeing how much time I spent with her and said it was meant to be. So I took her home for a week to give her a break from the shelter. Once she stepped into my house she started playing with Airella. She needed work. For example she didn’t like going through doorways or walking on a leash. So with my training I started working with her. Soon the week was over and it was time for her to go back to the shelter. Once I put her in her kennel she started whining and no one could stop her. So they called me and once she saw me she stopped and was wagging her tail. They told me that she really likes me and no one else. So I waited for the next adoption event. My mother and I camped outside Wayside Waifs for eight hours till they were open just for her. After the adoption we named her Bella.
In conclusion, they are my girls. I couldn’t be happier with the match. I found Airella the perfect sister. They play all day and sleep the night away. Airella is now one and a half and Bella is three months old. My favorite breed is rescued. I will continue helping animals for the rest of my life because making a difference is what I do and I’m proud of it.
