What makes a good teacher? Does she assist you when you need help? My teacher showed me that there is hope at the end of the day. Coming from Puerto Rico I was a shy boy. Having the chance to live in the “Land of opportunity” could be a great experience. Teaching first grade in Elementary School was my favorite teacher of all time.

Thinking of what to say to other students when I can’t speak their language. Someone to translate from Spanish to English was her. She is like my guardian angel in first grade. She picks me up during tough times. I am that small frail mice surrounded by others. Unable to communicate to these small individuals I struggled. She filled in those gaps between my distances with the students. She taught me how to speak their native language which is English.

Unknowing what can happen next I understood her teachings and made me the person I am today. I will forever be the known as the boy who jump over a language barrier from the help of this women. Making it possible for me to trace back what a great teacher she really is. She prepared me for the second level. Who am I to take the next step without saying thanks to her? Does this concern me? I probably wasn’t the only student who has this issue. But, she seen something about me.

Imagine, if I never ran into this wonderful first grade teacher. I would never know how to speak English like she has taught me. I took kindergarten at Puerto Rico and continued at the U.S.A. She shared her passion of teaching with all her students in a unique way. She put everything she has into what she loves which is teaching. For fifteen hours a day she scarified her time to teach a lonely boy to reveal himself to the students.

She needs me to stop taking baby steps and take leaps. Times are changing and getting harder as I speak. She hopes for me to have a great future and follow my dreams. She gets the weak students like me and brings them up slowly to discover themselves. I’m expressing myself and trying to get used to it. She thinks every student has potential in some sort and needs to reveal it. She’s basically my hero because she answered my life’s question.
