Splattered with the shock
Of neon signs
Of familiar faces
suspended.
Above congested roads
Choked with yellow cabs
Coughing fumes.
Above steamy sidewalks
Clogged arteries
Spotted with a boast
Of imitation Gucci bags
Of roasting meat
hanging.
Above towering brick
Looming shadows
Waggling tongues
Screaming soles
The hum of insomnia
irresistible.
