I am from...
I am from...
By: Jailyn
I am from books as dusty as an old basement.
From shelves and marshmallow couches
I am from a small and homey
I am from the Rose.
The willow whose long gone limbs I remember
As if they were my own
I'm from Christmas in Bardstown and green eyes
From Jessica and Jeremy.
I'm from reading and sleeping.
And from working
I'm from smile more and quiet down
And I don't want this night to end
I'm from opening presents on Christmas Eve.
I am from Louisville and Hospitals
Cornbread as dry as a desert and mangos.
From jumping off a house into a pool
and breaking his foot
Dark hair and cameras around my neck.
