Old Blue Jeans
I am as soft
and smooth as bricks
and as torn as
my old blue jeans,
and just like them
I am noble
enough to know
just what it means
to be in need
of a little
care, compassion,
and love once in
a while. I need
those three, and to
be forgiven
for all my sin.
I sit on the
brick stoop, with my
old blue jeans and
brand new hope
to someday smooth
the edges, fix these
tears and maybe
just learn to cope.
