Only a Memory
Nothing left but a wisp
A vague memory of a boy
An antique photograph
Glued to my heart
A heart that has struggled
One that’s seen it all
Still sporting the bruises
Bearing the name of that boy
The damage irreversible
As if he’d fix it if he could
No longer does he know my name
Love my smile, or look me in the face
But instead of forgetting
I can only remember
Hold steadfast to crushed dreams
Slowly drown in my sea of love for him
