The Lost Generation MAG

Oh why have we settled in the unquiet darkness,
where the noise of the silence overwhelms our hearts?
And we fall apart –
the sun sets and it rises –
we make shapes of ourselves no one can see.
Oh why are we lost in these tears
if we’ve forgotten how to cry?
If absence makes the heart grow fonder
can we hold on much longer?
We are burning in a drought of faith,
unnoticing as the stars are earnestly shining,
desperately bleeding light.
Oh how ironically hopeless
is every star’s forgotten fight,
for we are just uselessly drowning
under the weight,
under the honesty of the unspoken.
Oh the noise of the silence overwhelms our hearts.
I believe we are skillfully crafted
inexplicable accidents,
and our hero – the potter –
is too late.

People are like stained-glass windows.
They sparkle and shine when the sun is out,
but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed
only if there is a light from within.

This is absolutely beautiful.

As the tide washed in the Dutch tulip man faced the ocean, "Conjoiner rejoinder poisoner concealer revelator, look at it: rising up and rising down, taking everything with it."

"Water," said the Dutchman, "Well, and time."

Great job! I'm not a big poetry fan but I loved this! Keep it up!

I like this poem, it's very beautiful and the message resonates clearly. If you could check out my poem Sowing Poppies that would be great, but if you can't is there anyone else here who can?

o: nice! Well written indeed. I don't mean to be a bother but would any of you please view my poem? I've only been a member for such a short time and would like feedback from others so that I may improve and/or fix up my writing. Thank you in advance.

"To be or not to be, that is the question-" William Shakespeare's Hamlet, Act III Scene I

It's a truly beautifully written poem and it gives new meaning to term 'poetic dread'. Therefore, I have nothing bad to say about this poem.
