My Question
I would walk to Texas
On my hands and back
Just to feel your kiss.
For a lonely heart
Is the scorn of men-
I crave your gentle bliss.
I’d take the stars
In their might and glory
And put them by your bed
Your words caress
My swollen ears
And bring them from the dead.
This Earth has shattered
In twenty minutes
Since I saw it last
The only thing
That still remains
Is the question you haven’t asked.
So I’ll say it now
And forever hence
I shall hold my peace
Am I good enough
For the taking
Or will our bond forever cease?
