reading
the bright screen

and poems
and stories
spill out from the
humming machine
I want to be like them
so free
so real and
captivating
the words rolling
off my tongue
when I read them
out loud
softly singing
silent songs
and breathing
coming to life
and keeping record
of all you know
of all you have done
the words
matching like puzzle pieces
fitting them together
like a detective
I want to write like that
with musical words
and magical rhythms
that make me want to
write like what I read
speak out what I see
be like the words
that all tell
a different story.
