Inanimate
I am serenity-in poise and in grace
And I execute each look, each turn just right.
More than a human, a concept.
More than a character, a story.
Everyone stares in envy
At the piece in front of their eyes.
I smile back and remain in my fixed position,
The painting on the wall.
Restricting each urge to break free
Desires to yell and to scream.
And to run and escape from my frame.
But...a painting cannot act.
