Red and orange leaves
Begin to fall
Off enormous trees
Wind swirls off people’s hats
Everyone runs around
Including dogs and stray cats
Children jump into
Enormous piles of
Crispy leaves
Due to the chilly weather,
People are dressed
In sweaters and long sleeves
Shopping for
New clothes and
School supplies
Close up the pool
And say
Summer goodbyes
Oh, summer please
Come again
But while I’m waiting,
I’ll pick up my pen
