A Rower's Mind

the wind sweeps across her skin,
and seems to take away all her sins.
the glassy water with all its grace,
wraps her body in full embrace.
the oar grip is perfect in her hand,
and takes away the stress that withstands.
she drives back with all her might,
which brings her back into the light.
her blade pierces the smooth wake,
and drives away her sharp heart ache.
although her stroke is finished as she comes up the slide,
the constant pain hidden away cannot be denied.
