Forgetting Is So Much Harder
Did you think I never wondered
Where it was you always were?
Just when I thought I’d forgotten
And your face could haunt me no more.
See, I spent all my days wondering
Now I bet you secretly knew
That my mind was always racing
With forbidden thoughts of you.
For I never could help breathing
Any more than I could help bleeding
To this day all that I breathe and bleed is you.
And I couldn’t help believing
Any more than you could help deceiving.
Still we know it wasn’t true.
You’re alright.
You whispered softly
Your words kissing my ears
How could I have ever forgotten
The taste of bitter tears?
My mind was always racing
The things we did that night
The lies you always told me
We never were alright.
