I'm From
I’m from the little town on the Prairie Field
To the cool Wyoming air
I’m from the slopes in the Rocky Mountains
To the ocean in San Diego
I’m from bull riding and barrel racing
To two dogs and one cat
I’m from family filled holidays
To “monkey bread” every Christmas morning
I’m from play ground games
To high school gossip
I’m from Jobs Daughters (fairest in all the land)
I’m from beating the girls
To beating the boys
I’m from four wheeling every weekend
To homework every night
I’m from always painted toes
To almost breaking my nose
I’m from a black life
To a new pink one
I’m from living on the edge
To a little closer to home
I’m from losing my best friend
To losing my brother
To almost losing my mom
I’m from this world
Some of us call home
And to others…
A stopping place to see where we go next
