What I Know Now
I don't know why or where or how
But I do now know what I know now
Some days are gray and bleak and dreary
Others are gold and bright and cheery
On these days of gray I find myself fearing
Whatever would happen if life started veering?
I have a set path that I aim to follow,
But where will my path be going tomorrow?
Those days of gold come much too long after
Yet they bring me a road, in my life a new chapter.
They bring me a sense of belonging in life
They bring me a smile postponing my strife.
It is on these gold days when I truly do know
Where I belong and where I'm s'posed to go.
Then everything else won't matter at last
It's all just a lesson I learned in my past.
A dreary old time when the gray held so fast.
Now nothing, nothing, nothing but past.
