Meeting Love
I’m sitting on her bed
minutes before you get home
hands sweating
heart fainting
breathing labored
I hear the garage door screech
and I’m dying to see what makes you tick
you say hi, I say hi
chemistry at its finest.
a while later you drive me home
smiling at me all the way there
and I’m melting every time you
focus your baby blues upon my face
a smile, a heartbeat, a blink, and I’m gone
hopefully to see you again soon.
I’m at your house
to see you, not her
and I’m on your old orange couch
alone
eyes meet, then lips
softly touch
as electric shivers run down my spine;
hands follow.
and I think I love you.
