MY HERO
That man over there,
Do you know him? I do.
A man full of thoughts,
But his words always few.
He’s seen so much hurt,
Most of which he regrets.
His heart is so big,
It’s been stretched and stretched.
It’s constantly growing,
For all of our needs.
He understands people;
He sees eyes full of pleads.
To be set free from the pain
That plagues our big world.
But he can’t make it go,
Though he would if he could.
He does so much for me,
And others as well.
But I don’t think he knows
How on his words I dwell.
Always present to listen,
And help if he can,
And someday I hope
I’ll be just like that man.
