To My Cat
You've broken my skin
You've destroyed paper towels
You've unraveled toilet paper.
Twice.
You've clawed my curtains
You've climbed my hanging clothes
You've taken a drink from the toilet.
Many times.
You've played late into the night
You've followed me into the bathroom
You've crawled all over me
With claws out.
You've peed outside your litterbox
You've begged for more food
You've declared yourself queen
Of my bedroom.
You've run away from me
You've bitten my hands
You've tried to eat my wet hair
Every day
And I still love you.
