He isn't here because
he had to take care of something
or maybe he was too bored to hang out

He isn't here because 
he had soccer practice or somehing
or maybe he was too busy playing video games

He isn't here because
he had to take care of his sick grandmother
in the middle of Florida because she broke her hip washing dishes
or maybe he was out and about watching a movie because he didn't want to hang out with me

Maybe i'll be waiting and
waiting playing my ukulele and singing 
about how he made my day all good and bright

Maybe i'll be dead before he can 
even notice my hazel eyes or my black hair
that's been through so many phases because I want 
him to notice my well-being and the fact that i'm alive and waiting

Maybe i'll be married one day to a beautiful person who 
doesn't care about how I live my life as long as i'm with them
