When Flowers Bloom
When flowers bloom
I truly know
That Spring is here
And things will grow.
The petals with
A vast array
Struggle to choose
What they should say.
Some giggle with
Mischievous might.
Some shout and grin
With full delight:
“Spring is now here,
Let’s dance and sing!”
But others groan
With full loathing:
“I’m not happy,
It’s much too great.
Joyful’s too much,
I’d rather hate!”
Don’t listen to
These scrooges, though.
They’re cold and mean
And prefer snow.
Just carry on
With Spring’s full tour.
Look around, see?
There’s so much more!
Explore this, now,
The animals.
Yes, do you hear
The fine bird calls?
So delicate,
And beautiful.
They weave around
And on wind roll.
Or looky here,
A baby bear!
Behind that tree,
A fluffy hare!
So much to see,
Oh look, a swan!
Or in that grass,
A tiny fawn!
The green erupts,
Over that hill,
To countless shades,
Oh, what a thrill!
Chartreuse and sage,
And emerald, too.
Colors to see
Of every hue.
Overwhelmed yet?
Just wait, there’s more
Spring brings a show;
So much in store!
Rivers flow strong,
Daisies shine bright.
Trees harbor nests,
The sun gives light.
Rolling down hills
Are kids at play,
In the sky now
Dragonflies sway.
Dogs sniff the ground,
Explore the scents.
Horses gallop,
In grass make dents.
Lizards climb up
The tallest trees.
Frogs hop along,
And buzz! Go bees.
Of course, I can’t
Say all I see,
Because that would
Be rude of me.
Spring’s got to be
Sought by one’s eyes.
It’s better, sure,
And is more wise.
The sights and sounds
Can’t come alive
Till they’ve been seen
And you arrive.
So follow me,
And listen well,
Spring waits for you,
So do not dwell.
All that Spring wants
Is to lift gloom.
And it all starts
When flowers bloom.

Just a cute little poem. I wanted to write about something simple and pretty, so Spring was the perfect candidate. Enjoy!
