The Perfect Man
I am a man in our society,
expected to be strong and brave,
to show no sign of vulnerability,
and never to be afraid.
Like birds in the sky,
I am surrounded by a world,
that demands I fit in a mold,
and never to let my emotions unfurl.
I am told to be the provider,
to be the one who never falters,
to be the one who never tires,
to be the one always who alters.
But sometimes I feel lost,
like a musician without a song,
unsure of who I am or what it costs,
to be the one who must always be strong.
I still strive to find my way,
to break free from society's chains,
to be the man I want to be.
and to show that vulnerability is not a weakness, but a strength that we all must display.
