“Normality is a paved road, but no flowers grow on it.” -Vincent Van Gogh

When I sit alone

And the feelings I'd never dare to share flow out of me,

Smoothly,

Lava as hot tears down my face,

frozen solid by my frigid body.

And when the temperature gets too cold,

those goosebumps come again.

I plead the sun,

would you reveal yourself from beneath those clouds again,

though all I can see,

is a whiteout.

The snow against the sky is impossible to decipher

and it's ever so hard to tell which way is north.

I shiver and freeze as the biting cold nips at me,

and I begin to cry.

I sit lonesome, by myself, in the snow,

as the wind blows away my smiles,

and the sun illuminates all the wrong things

the snot freezes down my face, alike the tears.

And I shake and shake, until my eyes fall closed,

and I see blue along with the white.

The sky has come to pick me up.
