TO LIVE
Broken, but not lost
Outspoken, count the cot
Reach for the stars
Reality drifted far
Whispers shattered
What once mattered
You break my wings
Then quickly swing
Back down
To save me before I drown
Carry me home
Restore my weary bones
Mend my wings
And promise me
Things that will apply
To only you and I
Kiss the sky
In blinded light
Come break my chains
Before I go insane
Take me with you
Let your word stay true
I'll cling to your arm
Through safety or harm
This will make sense when I'm older
Why you let me cry on your shoulder
Maybe I'll understand
Why you cling to my hand
When I look into your eyes
While tears fill in mine
A tender touch on my face
As I wonder in pain
You're there to break me
When things are good as can be
Yet you come pick me up again
When it all feels like the end
You set my soul on fire
Till my need for help is dire
Watching as I cry
Desperately wondering why
Yet you also are there to hold tight
And keep me close to you through the fight
You stand with me through the pain
When there's nowhere else to cling
You kick me down
But then you pull me up off the ground
You push me off the edge
But the you fly me above the ledge
Take me back
Show me what I lack
In what I yearn
And things I learn
Free me from this prison
Let my heart be risen
From what I know
Wherever I go
I won't ask to never face trial
Just hold me all the while
Let my mind be secure
Knowing that I can endure
For love is pain
Both loss and gain
Though love is also beauty
A gift all while duty
Love can bring
The best of things
But also the most dark
And hard
Trial brings growth
A heart's persistent oath
That for each person shows
How far you can go
Love builds and breaks
But never fakes
A constant never lost,
Freedom's cost.

I don't know. I feel like with this poem, I kind of just lost myself inside of it. I let my emotions, thoughts, beliefs, hopes, regrets, wishes and reality all flow together and out onto paper. I feel like this very deeply pulls my heart every time I read it, I love it, and I hope you guys like it and can relate.
