I’ve hung myself in pearls—a fashion suicide
Drunk the fine yet poisoned wine—a luxurious pesticide
Imprisoned myself with priceless chains, weighed down with all the jewels
Strangled in the satin gloves; the plaything of fools
And as I stare through ivory bars
Sapphire tears that shine like stars
My death note penned in ink,
You’ll see only how I dress
And naught of what I think.
