How A Heart Breaks
As I gave my heart to her.
She held it in the palm of her hands.
Thinking she was giving it comfort and holding it tightly.
And so I thought, for eventually she would hold it no more.
She began to loosen her grip.
My heart slowly slipped away from her.
As it fell like a rock to the ground.
 I myself saw it fall.
 Once it touched the ground.
 It broke like glass.
I then fell to my knees, looking at all the pieces.
 Trying to put it together.
 I was covered in blood.
From the cuts and scrapes it had given me.
My heart lay broken before me.
I could do nothing but walk away.
Hoping for the chance of one day putting it back together.
