Dark Love
Our love is like a black rose
So beautiful
But so dark
Tainted by something unknown
Something evil
What happened to us?
What have we become?
You yell
I scream
In public we put on a show
In private we put up a fight
Inside I still love you
I still feel the connection
Through our eyes
I wish nothing changed
I don’t understand why it did
And while I cry
I see something in your gaze
Pain
Pain because you hate to see me cry
Pain from me being hurt
You long for the same thing as I
For things to become normal
For our kisses to be real
For our love to rekindle
I see that you long for the nights
Full of sunsets and beaches
I long to see a real smile on your face
I cry because I know you’re hurt
But you’re hurt because I cry
So forever we run in a circle
Both wanting the same thing
Both not able to bring ourselves
To commit
I am afraid.
Afraid that I will
Fall in love with you
Afraid to be hurt again
Our love is like a black rose
Alive
But dusky, fogy, somber
Faint
