I felt it crack
It cracked only halfway...

I was still whole

Then I felt it crack some more
In other places it fel apart...

But the middle still tore

It tore until it started holding on to little pieces of glass
But then it broke completely

The viens withering away
until one part fell away completely
Down to the empty center

lying there...
unable to revive it self

it doesn't beat anymore
it doesn't leap toward feeling
It's a dead piece of framed anatomy
i no longer have any use for...

my heart!

I must agree with the commentors below me: the last stanza was a favorite. This poem is an interesting and dramatic take on heartbreak. Well done.

I'm a loser and I love to lose. Each time I lose its different, it teaches me something else... but winning loses its glamour after the first few times. so I love to lose

your poem is very powerful. I like the last stanza best too.

Worry is simply a misuse of the imagination.

the last stanza is pretty good. but i think it would be cool if you didnt mention that it was your heart, just let the reader guess. the last stanza was definetly my fav.
