Orange
Bumpy, like an evil red eyed frog’s skin
Rough, like a dry and chapped elbow
Not as shiny as little Anna’s new tap shoes
This orange was the last of the last
Isolated, unwanted, left at the bottom of the bin
Neglected like the dusty worn-out teddy bear left at the corner of the room
But using dirty, yellow fingernails to peel off the top layer
An aroma of sweetness disperses into the air
Plump wedges resemble a happy toddler’s smile
