I Once Had A Friend...
I went down to the beach one day,
In hopes of finding a friend.
I searched high and low,
left and right.
But no friends.
Just as I was about to give up hope,
A birdie lands on my head.
I ask the bird with the shiny blue feathers,
"Would you be my friend?"
And he stayed on my head.
He went with me home,
and stayed through the arguments,
through the pain and the tears.
At the end of the day
I asked the bird with the shiny blue feathers,
"Are you still my friend?"
And he stayed.
He went with me to school
and stayed through the fights,
through the boredem and the drama.
And at the end of the day,
I asked the bird with the shiny blue feathers,
"Are you still my friend?"
And he stayed.
He stayed through the rain
and was my umbrella.
He stayed through the snow
and was my warmth.
He stayed through the hurricanes,
Through fire and ice,
And in the end I told the bird with the shiny blue feathers,
"I'm glad you're my friend."
And I watched his wings spread,
as he got on his feet.
I watched as he flew away.
And I said goodbye with three tears,
As I watched my friend disappear into the horizon.
