Listen
Waiting to the side, just in the shadows
She stands there waiting for a chance
To make herself heard because no one knows
The truth of her feelings and the words whispered inside
She wants to scream
She tries to hide
But nevertheless she’s there
Nevertheless she waits
Even though it makes her want to pull out her hair
Her pretty little voice won’t be heard
She tries again and again to speak her mind
A first try, a second, a third
In the end someone might hear her say
What she desperately tries to get out
What tortures her every day
Until her freedom is spoken
She’ll stand alone in the shadows
She’ll remain broken
Just listen to the whispers and it might become clear
There was something important
Something that you needed to hear
