I entered the
Garden of longing
Searching for you
A man everyone else got to know
A man everyone else got to love
I came clutching
The bouquet of life
Desperately holding on
Wanting

Needing
To give it to you
So I could hear your echoing laugh
Maybe just once…
So I could receive a branch of your wisdom
Or at least a torn leaf
But your season has passed
I have come too late
Your shed petals of kindness
Surround my feet
But the flower
Nowhere to be seen
Eroded
By harsh winds
And crashing hail
Will never reappear
My hands trace over soil
That once was yours

Eyes

Shut close

Giving moisture
