see you
Staring at the eyes of fallen victims
Limp muscles
The shine leaving one’s eyes

It’s you
The only time one can see you
Is when you remove a life

You seem to hate this world

You come then you go
I’ve never seen you on a trip
On the tabloids
Or running for president

Yet you are the most powerful of rulers
The most hidden of persons
The most famous of all celebrities

I ponder whether you are lonely
I wonder what you think

One of man’s biggest questions
Call me foolish but there is much wisdom in death

The world either hates or loves
Often times both
You conflict hearts
You bring joy and pain
You bring grief

Yet regardless of choice

Regardless of our own opinions or wishes
You come
No one is immortal
We will all encounter you

And just by seeing you
Just by glimpsing you
We will understand
Too late
