something like love

they say a moment
can last forever
if you let it,
but the one i had only went by too fast.
his lips touched mine
with such a soft sensitivity—
a sort of tenderness
i could taste the sweetness of his soul,
the salt of tears left unshed.
it was no ordinary act,
but a lingering
of something
much more.
