Slowly and Clumsily
Slowly, yet clumsily,
I chuck books, upon books aside.
Idiot’s Guide for Learning German.
Arugh! Oog! Ilch!
My tongue and my my throat contort,
almost strangely.
I feel like I squawk like a bird,
and whinny like a stallion.
It is enough to make any native speaker,
flush in emotion.
In fear or anger,
I do not know.
Spanish was one thing,
but for now,
this a whole other kettle of fish.
One that I am drowning in.
If you you hear me squawking,
that is my attempt of speaking.
