When you wake, I’ll be there
You were dead when I woke
What a lie, what a fable
A promise that was not to go broken
So the next best thing was to leave me awake
Night after night, with hours ticking
Like the clocks on the wall
And silence instead of music
Not a care in the world
No panic rising
Because you didn't go to bed crying
Relate not in thoughts because of what was lost
And there is still silence today
Surprise, surprise
Nothing but a lie
And it was to my face
