Ready
Knives,
sharpened to perfection
Held steady.
One swift movement,
a flick of the wrist.
Careless-
almost too easy,
it will have hit the target.
You.
Any moment now,
it will be soaring at you.
Whizzing through the air,
blindsiding you.
Brace yourself.
You will cringe
at the sight of it,
tears will waterfall
down your cheeks,
the pain will be unimaginable.
It will leave a scar,
a deep gash.
But when you realize
just how
significant
that moment is,
in your world
of orthodox ideas,
you’ll realize just how
insignificant
that mere scar is.
What it will do for you,
is far greater than anything
that knife wielder
ever did.
That scar,
it will make you
ready.
