You were a candle
Who met a match of your own
But she left you alone
With the flame she shared
Because she enjoyed
Creating chemistry
With the burst of her flame
She left
Because there was no point
In sharing light with a candle
That was already burnt out
No more thrill
No more exhilaration
And you,
You were afraid to melt away
Without leaving a legacy
So you placed your revenge on a fool
A fool that you once were
A fool like me.
