Ignorance
Lies, my life consisted of lies.
Thirty years and there was no trace.
My parents were not who they portrayed,
instead they were criminals who abducted a child and fell in love.
I have a PhD, how could I not have picked up on this?
Lies, they think I believe them when they say ‘I love you’,
but it’s truly just a bunch of lies.
Life wasn’t all that bad, living with abductors,
but until they brought home that dead little girl I knew.
I confronted them but all I recieved was lies.
Said they found her on the street unconscious,
Lies.
Said that they tried to revive her,
Lies.
Said that they were going to call the police,
Lies.
They left her in the shed to rot.
Lies, my whole life consisted of lies,
until I demanded the truth,
And pulled the trigger; twice.
