[Verse 1]
There she is, there she goes,
Flawlessly dancing on air through the halls of her high school
Telling herself "don't you dare fall down".
She can't make eye contact with the audience that always seems to be around.

[Chorus]
And he watches her like he's never seen light before.
And he sees her pain, but he's too shy to say anything.
The pauper loved the princess; she sees rags, he see's riches.
He's crying, "Cinderella get a clue! I am so in love with you! Here's my heart and here is your shoe!"

[Verse 2]
When she walks by, he feels the butterflies climb through his body.
He is the only one who hears her silent cries that she tries to disguise.
Tries to disguise.
What beautiful lies, beautiful lies.

She hates herself but just as well keeps on smiling. He dreams of talking to her, but never can gather the nerve.

[Chorus]
And he watches her like he's never seen light before.
And he sees her pain, but he's too shy to say anything.
The pauper loved the princess; she sees rags, he see's riches.
He's crying, "Cinderella get a clue! I am so in love with you! Here's my heart and here is your shoe!"

[Verse 3]
He wants to make it better, never wants to let her down.
He see's her bleeding soul but he never makes a sound.
How can no one hear her cries?
Is the world so naive that they believe such beautiful lies?
She's begging for an escape!
There's a fire in her that she can't take.

And he watched her like he never saw light before.
Now he lets the tears fall, 'cus he cannot take it anymore.
The pauper loved a princess who thought life wasn't worth the living.

He whispers by her grave, "Rest in peace Cinderella. I'm sorry I didn't know what to do. I loved you - you never knew. I never got to give you your shoe!"

I'm sorry Cinderella, I never got to give you your shoe.
Oh, I never knew.
I’m sorry Cinderella, I never knew.
