My Father
My father never told me what he thought
He kept his feelings deep within
The never showed no matter how distraught
But little could he hide from his kin
No matter how hard he tried I saw him proud
Proud of his family and his daughter
His voice was always there when it was too loud
There for me no matter what horror
But then the biggest horror of all came
His faint voice fading away
But without him there I felt to blame
No matter how hard I try I can't hear him today
My biggest supporter gone forever
But peace comes knowing he's better.
