Falling Into Winter
The trees, despite their leaves they feel upset
They stand, so tall, so strong, but weak from wear
The wind plays tag with them and gives them debt
It takes their life, their all, their will, their share

The wind, it strides with pride and takes the leaves
It moves, it sweeps, it takes, the leaves from home
The leaves withstand the fight from all the thieves
That blow them to and fro where ’er they roam

The leaves, can not withstand, when they are drowned
By powder white, and sugar bits may fall
The dust, it falls so light onto the ground
It covers all the land, my home, and all

The trees, they are so full of cloudy whites
But they will stand throughout the winter nights
