Lunar Epiphany
Planets don’t seem to want to spin and twirl;
And the sun is hiding behind the earth.
Smoke rises in a gloomy milky swirl;
And this land here, this was my place of birth.
And here I am above the sparkling stars
Standing quietly on the lonely moon
Light still reflecting from a bloody mars,
Won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.
Not sure what I want to be doing here
I’m just dreading those glaring city lights
No I am not yet held in gentle fear
My thoughts are in the stars—floating on kites.
See the many pieces of me leavin'
Someday you will see me pulling them in.
