To Bonnie, From Clyde
Shall I compare you to a lioness?
With your soft blonde mane shining in the sun,
And like deadly claws unsheathed with finesse,
Your dainty hands hold a dangerous gun.
So like a lioness in every way,
Able to butcher and maim in a blur,
Except for the times when you have no prey,
And lovingly snuggle with me and purr.
But I adore your risky behavior,
And like a deep breath of pure, sweet fresh air,
Your daring and grit have been my savior,
And to the blood that you’ve spilled – I don’t care.
And as long as you don’t ever hunt me,
I just want to say, I love you Bonnie.
