The Ozone Waltz
Your words on my tongue taste like stale ozone
I coughed and spattered, prostrate on the floor
I heard what you played, but hated the tone
I swore not to dance along anymore
But, as usual, I didn't commit
I found my feet tapping. My body swayed
Singing your song, forgetting I damned it
You retaught me the steps, and I obeyed
I realized your evil trickery though
And kissed you good bye for the final time
Your song reached the cadence. The notes went low
Your lyrics sacrificed meaning for rhyme
No harmony left in your melody
Your warble faded when you went off key
