A Sonnet of Hope
The sky loved the Earth more than cotton clouds.
It was a tragic love, destined to fail.
Yet he proclaimed his feelings out loud
Holding to the hope that love would prevail.
The winter found the summer beautiful
with gleaming light, comforting warmth, and youth.
Hope made a fire when snow was brutal.
The fall and spring laughed, they could see the truth.
The eerie night loved the dawn's orange light
and dreamed of the day he would see her face.
Hope made the darkness inside him seem bright.
This strange new feeling was his saving grace.
When life seems impossible, don't forget
Hope is the most powerful feeling yet.
