Long Ago
The tones of greens and blues whiz by,
Blurred into mere smudges and forms;
I can imagine if I try
That this was the world before the storms.
Nature in all its beauty,
Was never quite enough.
Man chose to neglect their duty
And refused to leave nature in the rough.
Now bent and broken,
The world lives on
Covered in humanity’s tokens
Made up of what is now forever gone.
Yes, I try to imagine what that world was like
As I flee from the unseen grey waiting to strike.
