Yellow was the color of the stars that were bright,
that one time we stayed up all night.
The slightest raise of your chest, and your breathing in beat
was the one time I felt at rest, that one time stuck on repeat.
Now its all just a memory, slowly fading, no longer a part of me,
making me homesick.
Homesick to the point that I try to find this memory in another living body,
nobody
made me feel as welcome,
as your warm hands did.
Nothing felt like heaven
like the words you once said.
And while I was looking for another you,
deep down I knew,
that a tide of sadness and self hatred would soon come into view but you won't have a clue
of how I miss you,
the person I called home.
In only a few seconds,
I will play pretend,
a few small seconds,
and we'll see each other
now and then,
a few seconds and I'll see the same stars again.
