Nine hours away, I long to be there
My head fills with a town I use to know
Replaying old memories that I bare
Ever expanding fields of corn and a distant silo
Old friends now have new ones
A town, once so large and full of life
Now small with Four-Hundred as a population sum
Run down and full of strife
The gray skies reflect my attitude
I miss what I use to remember, not this slur
A backwards town in solitude
Supple agricultural land, now dead by the acre
Five years and so much change
A land I use to love now so strange.
